Pediatric Airway Treatment
What is Airway Therapy?
Integrative Orthodontics or “airway focused” orthodontics, is a complex philosophy the evaluates the entirety of your health – not just your teeth.
Airway orthodontics evaluates the entire face. Our goal is to maximize the esthetic of an individual’s cheekbones, jaw, nose, facial profile and teeth.
We evaluate the need to intercept the abnormal growth patterns that are developing from disturbed breathing patterns, including mouth breathing. Due to the continuous growth in children, it is easier to correct deficient skeletal development to guide them to grow in the most favorable manner.
How does it work?
We use several types of expanders and guided appliances to optimize growth. In addition, we may advocate muscle retraining, swallowing retraining, nasal hygiene, and possible frenectomy.
